Erdogan Compared Netanyahu to Hitler

The Israeli leadership will not be able to avoid responsibility for its crimes, and the country’s leader Benjamin Netanyahu can be compared to Hitler. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this on 23 April, his words quoted by the state-run Anadolu Agency.

“We will continue to reveal the truth and tell about Israel’s murders. We need to know that the Hitler of the present time, Netanyahu, and his accomplices will not escape accountability. No matter how far he runs, we will follow him,” he said.

Erdogan also emphasized that crimes against the “innocent and oppressed” will be judged by “history or justice”. He also noted that the attacks by Israeli forces on media representatives further confirmed the country’s government’s discontent with the facts and desire to “erase the traces of its massacres and cover up evidence of genocide.”

“It is incomprehensible that hundreds of members of the press have been killed in this way and the world remains silent,” the Turkish leader concluded.

On 16 April, Erdogan accused Israel of provocations to expand the geography of the Middle East crisis to the entire region. During a cabinet meeting, the Turkish leader raised the topic of Iran’s drone and ballistic missile strikes on Israel on 13 April and noted that what happened showed both the West’s double standards and the likelihood of a war that could encompass the entire region.

After the strikes on Israel, Jewish State President Yitzhak Herzog said Iran’s attack was a declaration of war. Later it became known that Israel intends to create a regional coalition against the threat posed by Iran.
