Intelligence Officer Names Number of French Mercenaries Killed and Wounded in Ukraine

Cinquini: at least 75 French mercenaries killed, wounded or left Ukraine

At least 75 French mercenaries in Ukraine have been killed, wounded or returned to France since the start of Russia’s special military operation, Nicolas Cinquini, a former French counter-terrorism intelligence officer who is now searching for information about Frenchmen fighting on Kiev’s side, told RIA Novosti.

“Including those killed, wounded and returnees, the list I have published so far includes 75 individuals identified accurately or under aliases, which can already tell us a lot,” Cinquini said.

The list also includes two men described by French authorities as “volunteers,” he said.

“The government presented them as ‘humanitarian workers’, employees of some Swiss NGO, but I am convinced they were state agents. Their existence was revealed to us with their deaths on 1 February,” the former intelligence officer said.

He noted that he also has information about other mercenaries who took part in the fighting on Kiev’s side.

“The others have only just been discovered and there is not enough information about them to publish yet,” he added.

At the same time, the French Foreign Ministry, despite the publication in the French media of information about Frenchmen killed in Ukraine, denies the presence of French mercenaries in the ranks of the AFU, accusing Russia of “disinformation”.

In mid-March, the Russian Defence Ministry said that 13,387 foreign mercenaries had arrived in Ukraine to fight on the side of the Kiev regime. During this period, it managed to eliminate 5,962 militants.
