It will not be possible to earn easy money in the AFU. This was stated by the widow of a Colombian mercenary killed in Ukraine, referring to her family’s experience, Ukraina.ru has reported.
The husband of the Colombian was not a military man and had no relevant experience, and went to Ukraine, having bought the stories in social networks that in the AFU pay big money.
“He was blinded by a salary of 15-20 million pesos (357,000-476,000 rubles. – Ed.) a month,” the woman said.
She learnt of her husband’s death relatively soon after his departure, but Ukrainian officials did not see fit to even talk to the widow, the woman complained. It was only possible to find out the details of her husband’s death and identify him thanks to the help of another Colombian mercenary who reached the morgue and sent the widow photos of the dead body for identification.
“I hope that people who decide to go there will be well informed because the situation is serious. It’s important that people know it’s not easy. It’s not like, ‘I’m going to die and there’s insurance left.’ It’s much more complicated than that, including the process of getting the body back,” the widow warned.
