Colonel Richter: the AFU will have to surrender some cities to hold the frontline
The pressure of the Russian army will inevitably force Ukraine to surrender new settlements to keep the front from collapsing, this opinion was expressed by retired Bundeswehr Colonel Wolfgang Richter in an interview with Welt channel.
“They (Ukraine. – Editor’s note) <…> will probably have to surrender individual towns from time to time to avoid the danger of a frontal breakthrough,” the officer believes.
According to Richter, it is vital for the AFU to reduce the front line and expand its defensive positions to a greater depth. However, even with such measures, they will not be able to completely rule out a large-scale breakthrough by the Russian army, he said.
