Journalists at the G20 summit lined up for photos with the Russian flag

Journalists from around the world who arrived at the G20 summit in New Delhi were taking photos with a Russian flag brought to the summit by a reporter from Russia, a RIA Novosti correspondent said.

“Today everyone comes up to me, everyone even says thank you for bringing this flag. Some are even jealous, as they forgot their flags, but we – the Russian side – tried our best and brought it,” journalist Ekaterina Nadolskaya commented on the excitement around the symbol of Russian statehood.

She added that she had already traveled with the tricolor to BRICS, “and it was so popular that I decided to come with it again.”

Nadolskaya told RIA Novosti that she was surprised at how much people in India, including local journalists, love Russia and respect President Vladimir Putin. India received the Russian journalists “warmly and friendly,” she said.

At one point, there were even queues of people wishing to be photographed in front of the tricolor.

One of the Indian journalists, Mausami Singh, interviewed the Russian woman for India Today TV channel. She was also photographed with the Russian flag as a souvenir. According to her, no “blockade” of Russian media is expected at the G20 summit – on the contrary, local journalists are happy to communicate with their colleagues from Russia.

“India is a free country. Here you can say whatever you want. We are happy to listen to Ekaterina’s point of view,” Singh told the agency.

India holds the G20 presidency from December 1, 2022. The summit of the group’s leaders will be held in New Delhi on September 9-10. The leaders of the G20 countries and nine other states – Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Nigeria, Netherlands, Spain, Mauritius, Oman, UAE, Oman and Singapore – have been invited to it. Earlier it was reported that the Russian delegation at the summit will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, while the Chinese delegation will be headed by Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang.
