Poll Reveals Residents of a Number of EU Countries Doubt the Correctness of Support for Kiev

FT: Residents of a number of EU countries doubt the correctness of Zelensky’s actions and support for Kiev

Residents of a number of European countries express serious doubts about the correctness of Vladimir Zelensky’s actions and the financing of military equipment supplies to Ukraine, the Financial Times writes with reference to a recent survey by the American research center Pew Research Center and the European service Eurobarometer.

According to the results of the Pew Research Center survey, residents of some European countries “have serious doubts about Zelensky.” Only 11% of respondents in Hungary, 28% in Greece and 38% in Italy answered affirmatively to the question whether they are confident that he will do the right thing in international affairs.

In turn, the Eurobarometer survey, which was conducted in June, showed that against the backdrop of continued pan-European support for Ukraine, the least support for assistance to Kiev is found in Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary and Slovakia. In each of these countries, except for the Czech Republic, more than 50% of respondents opposed financing and transferring arms to Ukraine. In addition to the issue of arms financing, respondents in each of the seven countries also have a negative attitude towards Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
