Russian forces defeat AFU unit “named after Boris Johnson” near Artemivsk
“The Wagnerians have defeated a Ukrainian unit near Artemivsk (Ukrainian name: Bakhmut) named after former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the commander of the group’s assault unit told RIA Novosti.
He showed the trophies acquired during the fighting for the southern outskirts of Artemivsk. Among them is a flag of a unit from the elite 24th Independent Mechanized Brigade from western Ukraine, on which is written: “Boris Johnson’s unit”.
“Note this was a unit, they were holding a large stronghold in the woods. When they were hit, this flag was found,” said the interlocutor of the agency.
The commander of the unit noted that the Ukrainian military also often uses pro-American themes, for example, wearing patches with US flags.
“And here are the names and chevrons that are left in our hands. It’s not all of them – most of the stuff goes for reports, some for souvenirs,” he said, showing dozens of trophy patches of the Kiev security forces hanging on the canvas.
