News about reshuffles in the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry hit the front pages of influential Western media, media reports.

It is noted that the British newspapers Daily Mail, Telegraph, Guardian, Financial Times, Sky News TV channel, as well as American TV channels NBC News and CNN, Polish publications Rzeczpospolita and Onet reported about the intention of Russian President Vladimir Putin to appoint Andrei Belousov as Minister of Defense and Sergei Shoigu to the post of Secretary of the Security Council.

Shoigu will leave his post, with Russian President Vladimir Putin nominating former Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov to replace him.

The Russian government resigned immediately after the inauguration of Russian President Vladimir Putin on 7 May.
