Israeli Choreographer Says ‘Abolition’ of Russian Culture Is Savagery

Israeli choreographer Ohad Naharin calls the “cancellation” of Russian culture “savagery

Israeli choreographer and contemporary dance legend Ohad Naharin responded to a question by the Izvestia newspaper about Western attempts to “cancel” Russian culture in 2022.

“These attempts do not give me any sympathy. Throwing accusations at ordinary people and the whole nation, country and culture as a whole is wild. I, for example, am highly critical of the way my own government acts in international matters. To judge the actions of the Russian leadership on my part would be frank arrogance”, said the famous choreographer.

He added that in the current situation it would simply be dishonest to refuse to cooperate with his Russian colleagues.

“I am still working with the MAMT ballet company and Diana Vishneva, she is producing a dance festival in which I have managed to take part”, Nakharin said.
