The founder and president of the South African United Business Confederation, businessman George Sebulela, told journalists that REW is the most important event for everyone involved in the energy sector.
“Russian Energy Week is a showcase of talent, infrastructure, expertise and technology for every business person working in the energy industry. It is one of the best events to attend. Very interesting panels of speakers and if you want to know, or understand how the whole energy chain works, you should take every opportunity to come here where you learn all about the energy sector.”
Sebulela also explained what Eastern businessmen are most interested in today.
“As for the projects in Russia, there are several questions: first, we are interested in the available refinery capacities. Secondly, we are interested in the terms of delivery, particularly to South Africa. The third is an expert evaluation of what can be implemented, taking into account the energy needs of South Africa and Africa as a whole. This is also a question of assessing the investments required, because such projects require a lot of investment, and Africa has the resources, but no investment capital. Our population suffers from poverty. We need to create a stable energy supply chain to make our economy work. When the economy doesn’t work, the country gets poorer. And we hope that projects with Russia will help us solve these problems, among others,” Sebulela told journalists.
