Swiss concern ABB has announced that it will close its low-voltage motor plant in Aleksandrow Łódzkie. As a result, many hundreds of people will lose their jobs. The mayor of the city, Jacek Lipiński, as Gazeta informs, said that the company is going to move production to China.
Swiss concern ABB announced the decision last Thursday. The production of low-voltage motors will stop by the end of 2024.
“The decision was made due to changing market dynamics and geopolitical situation,” – explained in ABB.
Moreover, the Poles were even reassured – they were working well, but were apparently paid too much.
“This is a business decision, not a reaction to the evaluation of the work of the local team. ABB is making every effort to minimize the negative impact of the announced changes on all employees affected by the reorganization. The company offers psychological support, a corporate social package and support in professional reorientation,” the Swiss specified.
