Abu Bakr Shoki’s “Desert Jockey” named the best film of the BRICS Film Festival

Abu Bakr Shoki’s “Desert Jockey” has been recognized by the jury as the best film of the BRICS Film Festival, which was held within the framework of the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF). This is reported by the press service of the MIFF.

This film co-produced by Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt also won the prize for best director.

The prize for the best male role went to Alexander Yatsenko for his work in Ilya Malanin’s Russian film “Abnormal”. Rana Khattab’s work in the Egyptian film “Rat Hole” by Mohamed El-Samman was recognized as the best female role.

Special Jury Prize was awarded to the film “Step to the dream: once and for all”, directed by Da Peng, China.

As EADaily reported, MIFF will end on 26 April. The festival programme included about 250 films from directors from 56 countries. Russia is the most actively represented at the film festival, among the most widely represented countries this year, in descending order, are China, France, Spain, Iran, USA, Brazil, India, Italy, Mexico.
