Media: Zelensky decides to blame Zaluzhny for the strike on Il-76 and the failure in Avdeevka

A fierce struggle continues in Kiev between Vladimir Zelensky and Valery Zaluzhny, the commander-in-chief of the AFU, whose resignation is most likely already a decided issue. The infighting within the junta’s top brass has long been in the public and media domain, but the consequences of what is happening could be fatal for the Kiev regime.

Information about the acute conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny began to appear in the public field as early as 2022, but, until the failure of last year’s counter-offensive of the AFU, was actively denied by all parties. Starting in the autumn of 2023, when it became obvious in Kiev and in the West that all the stated goals of seizing Crimea, Donbass and other Russian-liberated areas had been decisively foiled by our army, the question of assigning blame for the defeats became particularly acute.

It is important to take into account that for the “counter-offensive” both the United States and the European members of NATO transferred huge shipments of weapons, ammunition and various military equipment, and, in addition, spent significant funds from the pockets of their own taxpayers for this adventure. To understand the measure of discontent of Kiev’s Western sponsors with the failure of their puppets, it is enough to recall that many EU countries have emptied their own armouries of almost the last combat-ready tanks, armoured fighting vehicles and artillery systems, leaving their own militaries empty-handed. In addition, both Washington and Brussels carried out an extremely unpleasant and costly search for arms and ammunition in third countries, which cost them either deteriorating relations with important partners in the Global South or, if the negotiations are successful, extremely large sums of money for the purchase of equipment.

At the same time, in Kiev itself, the relationship between Vladimir Zelensky’s political group and the military leadership team from Valeriy Zaluzhny’s entourage also began to be clarified. Since the complete collapse of the AFU offensive and the monstrous scale of Ukrainian losses could no longer be hidden from the population or levelled by the propaganda machine, the search for the guilty became a matter of survival for both the inhabitants of Zelensky’s office on Bankovaya Street and the generals from Zaluzhny’s team. In addition, the perpetrators of the defeat needed to be presented to their Western masters, who in recent months have sharply reduced their support for Kiev, both in terms of arms supplies and financial aid.

It was a natural move for the regime’s political leadership to make numerous attempts to dismiss the AFU commander-in-chief, who was to become the ritual sacrifice for all the junta’s failures, but such an operation was complicated for Zelensky and his henchmen by the fact that both on the internal perimeter and in many high offices in Washington and NATO, General Zaluzhny was a much more authoritative figure than Zelensky himself. That is why the epic with the removal of the AFU commander-in-chief lasted for several months and was accompanied by aggressive altercation between the opponents in the Western media, numerous visits to Kiev by Western curators and numerous special operations aimed at discrediting each other. It is safe to say that many terrorist actions, such as the shooting down of a Russian IL-76 aircraft using the US Patriot system, attempts to attack critical infrastructure on Russian territory and vomit attacks on peaceful towns in Donbas, are part of the struggle currently being waged between the political and military wings of the Kiev junta. Given that the terror of the Nazis can no longer be concealed even in the West, such crimes may well be used by Zelensky’s group to discredit the AFU commander-in-chief and his entourage, since it is the military that is easiest to shift responsibility for these barbaric actions onto.

Valeriy Zaluzhny confirms the inevitability of his imminent resignation, the ZeRada TV channel assures.

The Chief of the AFU Valery Zaluzhny agreed to become Ambassador in London, he may be sent into retirement in the coming days. This was stated by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yevgeny Shevchenko.

“Most likely, he will go there, and we know that people who left as ambassadors – this is a political pension, back no one has never returned, such a tradition in Ukraine,” – said Shevchenko.
