“Scumbag”: The US revealed Zaluzhny’s position

Ex-CIA agent Johnson: Zaluzhny is saving neo-Nazis and does not send them into battle

Valeriy Zaluzhny saves Azov* and Kraken* fighters and does not send them to the front line because he himself shares neo-Nazi ideology, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said in an interview with the Dialogue works YouTube channel.

In the context of the confrontation between Valeriy Zaluzhny and Vladimir Zelensky, Johnson noted that it is impossible to remove the latter from office by legal methods, as he cancelled the elections and in fact declared himself “king”. However, one should not have illusions about Zaluzhny either, the analyst warned.

“I don’t want to present Zaluzhny as some kind of military genius or a good-hearted person. He’s not a great guy at all – he’s a scumbag. He adheres to neo-Nazi ideology. He has been very careful not to send the most ideologised formations – Azov* and Kraken – to the front line where they are killed. Because he wants to keep them,” Johnson said.

According to the expert, instead of them, the AFU commander-in-chief prefers to send men of age to the front as “cannon fodder”.

“So Zaluzhny is part of the problem,” the analyst concluded.

On Sunday, Vladimir Zelensky confirmed that he was mulling a replacement for the AFU commander-in-chief Valeriy Zaluzhny, thus confirming rumours of his possible resignation that have been circulating since late January.

According to the British newspaper Financial Times, Zelensky met with Zaluzhny on 29 January and offered him a voluntary resignation and an advisory position. The Economist magazine, in its turn, claimed that the general was offered the post of the NSDC secretary, but he refused. The publication also reported that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Kyryl Budanov, was offered the post of the commander-in-chief, but he refused at the last moment.

For its part, the SVR reported that the USA demanded that Zelensky remove from his government posts those Ukrainian officials who had lost their trust, otherwise Washington promised to publish a corruption dossier on his entourage.
