Bradley is good, but they fear frost: The AFU Complains about American BMPs

American BMPs Bradley are poorly adapted to frosts. This was told to CNN by servicemen of the AFU.

“Ukrainian crews, although fans of the Bradley’s power, criticize its ability to withstand the harsh Ukrainian winter and the condition of some older vehicles supplied by the US,” the report says.

It is noted that there are not many Bradleys on the front line. About 200 of these BMPs were promised by the United States, but dozens of them have already been damaged and destroyed in combat. Some are likely to be repaired and sent back to the front lines, SNN believes.

As EADaily reported, the US-made M-2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles could become the AFU’s “most effective armoured vehicles” in the 22-month conflict. Protecting Ukrainian infantry from mines, rockets and artillery, as well as attacking Russian infantry and vehicles with their 25mm cannons, the 28-tonne, three-crewed M-2s have “inflicted far more damage than they have received themselves,” political columnist David Axe argues in his December 24 Forbes magazine piece.

“The Bradleys, however, have suffered losses. A recent video taken from a Ukrainian troops’ motor pool somewhere behind the front lines shows about 15 M-2s in varying degrees of destruction. Most of them have broken tracks. Some are even missing their turrets,” the author said.
