A Couple Beaten Up in a Berlin Restaurant for Speaking Hebrew

In Berlin in a fast food restaurant a guy and a girl were beaten up for speaking Hebrew. This is reported by the telegram channel “Bild in Russian”.

The anti-Semitic incident occurred about midnight in the district of Neukeln, where many natives of the Middle East live. A 24-year-old guy and a 27-year-old girl were having dinner at a fast-food restaurant on Hermannplatz and were chatting in Hebrew. At a nearby table sat two men who were having a dialogue in Arabic. At the sound of Hebrew they went on a rampage – a chair was thrown at the girl and the young man was hit in the face. After the incident, both men ran away from the establishment in the direction of Zonnenallee Street.

The police have opened a case of bodily harm, writes TC.

As media reported, German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy Robert Habeck on 29 October harshly criticised the manifestations of anti-Semitism in the country.

“The scale of anti-Semitism is appalling. We have a historical responsibility, anti-Semitism has no place in Germany – no matter in what form. The constitution – with all the rights and obligations that follow from it – is supreme,” he told the Bild publication.
