Nothing Works Anymore: Western equipment handed over to Kiev is worn out

Western military equipment handed over to Kiev is worn out due to prolonged use. This is reported by Bild military observer Julian Roepcke.

The matter, according to him, is not only the shortage of 155- and 152-mm artillery shells.

“My contacts in the Ukrainian army also tell me: it’s not only about the shortage of 155- and 152-mm artillery shells – nothing works anymore. Western self-propelled howitzers are not designed for real, long-term warfare, but only for short missions,” Roepcke writes in his social media account.

“Western weapons keep failing, and Soviet weapons are simply running out. At this rate, we will have a shortage of heavy equipment in 2024,” Ukrainian telegram channel Resident commented on Roepcke’s post.

As reported by EADaily, at the end of December, Washington will announce the allocation of another package of military aid to Kiev, which will be the last one, as the resources have been exhausted. This was stated at a briefing by White House coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby.

“We are still planning one aid package to Ukraine later this month,” he said, quoted by the media.

Without a decision by Congress to allocate additional funds, the US will no longer have the resources to support Ukraine, Kirby admitted.

“We have directed the remaining available funds to replenish our supplies, to replace what we are sending to Ukraine,” he said.
