Blinken: US to supply Kiev with ammunition for air defence, HIMARS and artillery

United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that Washington will supply Ukraine with ammunition for air defence, HIMARS and artillery, as well as HARM anti-radar missiles and anti-tank ammunition as part of a new aid package for Kiev.

About it writes RIA Novosti.

He said that the aid package for Ukraine includes ammunition and components for air defence systems, additional ammunition for HIMARS, artillery ammunition, including 155 mm and 105 mm calibres, HARM high-speed anti-radar missiles, as well as anti-tank ammunition.

Blinken added that the weapons also include small arms ammunition, support equipment, services, training and weapons delivery.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of a new $200m military aid package to Ukraine.

Following his meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, he also said that Washington would continue to supply weapons to Kiev, but that it was rapidly running out of opportunities.

The first deputy Russian ambassador to the UN, Dmitriy Polyansky, said that no matter how many weapons Vladimir Zelensky had lured from the United States, they would either be ground up by the Russian Armed Forces or abandoned.
