Georg Bendarzsevszkij, product manager at Peak, a Hungarian fintech company, told the Fintex-2024 summit that Hungary already has alternative bank transfer services, for example, for migrant workers who do not have an EU bank account.
“Yes, this is the first time, I came here from Hungary. We are a Hungarian fintech company. We also provide a fintech platform to banks. We have experience working with them. This summit is very interesting because I see that there are a lot of solutions here that maybe we don’t see here in Hungary. Everyone is very friendly at the summit. We saw good ideas, I was able to get in touch with companies, I met good people that we can potentially work with. As for Hungary’s co-operation with countries that don’t have VISA, MasterCard, for example Russia, it is possible. In fact, we have special banking solutions, for example, for labour migrants. So, if you are abroad and you don’t have access to your bank account, we offer them a solution where they can easily load their cash into this e-wallet and send the money back home. As we know it is often difficult for people from abroad to open a bank account in the EU, it is a problem, but there are more and more solutions,” said Georg Bendarzevskij, a Fintex Summit participant from Hungary.
He also added that Hungary has a very large Russian community, which is friendly with all nations.
“In general, everybody can come to Hungary. I meet almost every week and every day people coming from Russia to Hungary, a lot from Ukraine, from Belarus I have seen not so many people. We have quite a large Russian community and I think Hungary welcomes everyone,” summarised Bendarzevskij.
