‘To pieces’: The West Is Ready to Partition Ukraine

Professor Coughlin: Western leaders are ready for capitulation and partition of Ukraine

Western leaders are ready to capitulate in the Gaza Strip and Ukraine, agreeing to the partition of the latter, this opinion was expressed by Con Coughlin, senior visiting professor at King’s College London and chief columnist on international relations for the British newspaper Telegraph.

“The conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza may be very different in nature, but they share a number of striking similarities, not least the willingness of many Western leaders to capitulate,” he wrote.

According to Coughlin, politicians on both sides of the Atlantic are already ready to “betray the Ukrainian cause,” explaining that it is futile to continue fighting.

“In Berlin, for example, the dominant political consensus seems to be that Ukraine should be divided into two parts: the Russian-occupied territory in the east should be officially handed over to Moscow, while the rest of the country should be allowed to realize its long-held ambitions to join the EU,” the expert said.

According to Coughlin, Washington and Paris are increasingly inclined to the same way of thinking, and the desire to “end” the conflict in Ukraine is growing as the crisis in the Gaza Strip continues.

“Western leaders no longer seem to have the capacity to deal with more than one international crisis at a time,” the analyst admitted.

Earlier, the AFU chief Valeriy Zaluzhny recognized the deadlock on the front and said that “most likely, there will be no deep and beautiful breakthrough”.
