Times of Israel: Israeli MoD chief told captives’ families about ‘pressure’ on Hamas
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant explained the necessity of “military pressure” on the Palestinian movement in a meeting with relatives of Hamas hostages, the Times of Israel reported.
“If there is no military pressure on Hamas, there will be no progress on negotiations,” the newspaper quoted Galant as saying.
According to the newspaper, the minister said that such pressure on Hamas was more likely to lead to the release of prisoners than to a “major prisoner swap
“The stories that Hamas publishes are part of their psychological game, and they have a great impact on the entire nation of Israel. Hamas is cynically using those we care about, they are aware of the pain and the pressure,” Galant also said.
