International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric said she was shocked by the level of human suffering in the Gaza Strip and called it a catastrophic failure that cannot be tolerated.
“I am appalled by the unbearable level of human suffering and call on the parties to the conflict to stop escalating immediately…. This is a catastrophic failure that must not be tolerated by the world,” the president’s words were quoted in a release published on the ICRC website.
It is noted that ten experts of the committee, including a surgical team, have arrived in the Gaza Strip, medication has also been delivered, but this small assistance is not enough.
