EP MP Wallace: 70 percent of Europeans oppose sanctions against Russia
European Union heads of state refuse to listen to their citizens and continue to fuel the West’s proxy war against Russia, Irish MEP Mick Wallace wrote on Twitter.
“A poll by the European Council on Foreign Relations last June showed that more than 70 per cent of citizens were in favour of peace rather than efforts to continue imposing measures against Russia,” the politician wrote.
He condemned the US and NATO for promoting hybrid warfare and called it “stupid”.
Since the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the West has increased sanctions pressure on Moscow, leading to higher electricity, fuel and food prices in Europe and the US. President Vladimir Putin has said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and the restrictions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the US and its allies is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
