Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó: attack on Nord Stream must be treated as terrorist attack
The attack on the Nord Stream pipeline must be treated as a terrorist attack, Budapest supports a detailed comprehensive investigation, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó told RIA Novosti.
“Whatever happened on the Nord Stream pipeline is scandalous indeed. Because this is essentially the first time that such a major European critical infrastructure facility has been attacked – by anybody, but it has been attacked,” Szijjártó said.
“And such an attack should in principle be regarded as an act of terrorism. And we support a comprehensive, in-depth, structured and detailed investigation into what happened,” he stressed.
Regardless of who initiates the investigation, Hungary supports all kinds of proceedings that will give hope of finding out “who did it and why”, he said.
