Emergency Situations Ministry: an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 has occurred in the waters of Lake Baikal
An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 has been detected in Baikal near the village of Bolshoye Goloustnoye, said the Irkutsk Region EMERCOM.
“The earthquake was registered in the water area of Lake Baikal 18 km away from Bolshoe Goloustnoe at 10.35 (05.35 Moscow time), the magnitude 5.9 in the epicenter,” – said in the message.
It is noted that the intensity of the earthquake in Irkutsk was 3 points. There were no casualties or destructions.
