Germany Links Nord Stream Bombings to EU’s Dependence on US

Germany links explosions at Nord Streams to “feudal dependence” of EU on US
Explosions at Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines have once again exposed the “feudal dependence” of the European Union (EU) on the United States. Sevim Dagdelen, a member of the Bundestag (German parliament) from the Left Party, said this in an interview to the Chinese newspaper Global Times on Wednesday, February 15.

“The EU has failed to free itself from US domination and pursue an independent, self-confident foreign and security policy. The apogee of European impotence in its feudal relationship with the US was the refusal to investigate terrorist acts of sabotage against the Russian-German Nord Stream pipeline,” she said.

Dagdelen called Germany a “servile vassal” of the US, endangering its own population.
She added that in light of recent revelations by US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh that “the US and Norway bombed the Nord Stream pipelines, the German government should provide an explanation for those responsible and take appropriate action instead of continuing this vassal loyalties.”
The day before, the UN secretary-general’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that the organisation had no mandate to investigate the Nord Stream incident.
