Danish Radical Who Burned Koran Issues Ultimatum to Erdogan

Radical Paludan, who burned the Koran, threatened Erdogan with new actions because of Sweden and NATO

Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the right-wing Danish “Tough Course” party, who burned a Koran outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm last Saturday, has threatened President Tayyip Erdogan with new actions until Sweden joins NATO, Aftonbladet newspaper reported.

The radical told the newspaper that the implementation of his new extremist actions depends on “President Erdogan himself,” who “does not want to let Sweden join NATO.” Paludan claims that once Ankara gives Stockholm the go-ahead to join the bloc, he will “never again in his life burn a Koran in front of the Turkish embassy.”

Paludan burned a Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on Saturday, having previously obtained permission for the action from Swedish authorities. Erdogan said Sweden can no longer expect Ankara to support a NATO membership bid after that.
