German refusal to discuss the issue of reparations with the Polish side demonstrates Berlin’s disrespectful attitude towards Poland and the Poles. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister and Government Commissioner for Reparations Arkadiusz Mulyarczyk to PAP on January 3.
“This reply, formulated in one sentence, shows a totally disrespectful attitude towards Poland and Poles,” he said.
Mulyarchyk stressed that there is no legal reasoning in Berlin’s response. Meanwhile, he was not surprised by such a step from Germany, he added, because the FRG does not have a friendly policy towards Poland, seeking to relegate the country to the level of a vassal.
