De Gaulle’s Grandson Denounces a “Conspiracy” against Russia

General de Gaulle’s grandson said the West was preparing a “conspiracy” against Russia

The West had planned a “conspiracy” against Russia in advance, Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of former French President Charles de Gaulle, said in an interview with AgoraVox.

“The number and extent of the sanctions show that it was all planned a very long time ago and that it is, in fact, a very real economic war, which the Americans benefit from,” he said.

He said Russia was not to blame for the unprecedented economic and financial crisis, for which the EU and the US try to blame Moscow.

“The Russians are just defending themselves because there are 11,000 sanctions against them, plus the ninth package. In my opinion, it is quite legitimate and natural that the Russians are defending themselves,” de Gaulle stressed.

He also commented on the freezing of Russian assets, saying that “no other nation since the persecution of the Jews during the Second World War has experienced such robbery as the Russian people today.”

He also did not ignore the “intellectual dishonesty of the West” as manifested in the Ukrainian crisis.

“The first ones to pull the trigger in the war that has been going on in the region since 2014 were the Americans. The second warmonger was the NATO organisation, which never dropped its plans to expand into Ukraine,” de Gaulle said.

“Maintaining good relations with Russia is Europe’s duty in the name of maintaining stability in the world,” the French leader’s grandson summed up.

Earlier, French historian Annie Lacroix-Reese said Charles de Gaulle was the last French president who sought to preserve its autonomy and independence from the US and build good relations with the USSR, but this was hindered by the US, as it wanted a controlled government in France.
