Action Against Russians’ Discrimination Organised in Milan

An action against discrimination against Russians and the Italian government’s policy in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia was held in Milan. It was organized by students of the University of Turin and the political association “Italy again – for democratic sovereignty”.It was reported by TASS.

More than 200 people came to take part in the action in the square in front of La Scala Theater. They spoke out against anti-Russian sanctions, which are negatively affecting Italy, among others.

Participants in the event spoke out about the consequences of European countries’ sanctions, recalling the rise in fuel and food prices.

In addition, Italians supported Russian athletes and musicians, who are not allowed to participate in international competitions and contests as a result of the sanctions.

“Our demonstration is a show of solidarity with people who have been discriminated against in recent months just because they belong to a certain nationality, it is a shame,” said Luciano Tovaglieri, coordinator of the political association “Italy Again – For Democratic Sovereignty” in Lombardy.

Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said that the events in Ukraine revealed anti-NATO and anti-Western sentiments in Italian society.
