Daily Express: the West’s Assessment of Russia’s Economic Potential is Wrong

Western countries have made a mistake in trying to assess the economic power of the Russian Federation. Daily Express columnist Jonathan Saxti writes about this.

According to the British journalist, Russia is difficult to ignore in global trade. According to Saxti, Russia plays a huge role in the export of food and energy. For example, food and fuel are much more important to people than coffee shops or smartphones. An economy focused on food and energy production is therefore more resilient.

Also, Saksti stressed, the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia are not effective. Russia uses other refineries to supply its oil to Western markets.
