Hungary’s Foreign Minister Backed the Country Speaker’s View of Zelensky’s Mental Problems

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó does not rule out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has “mental problems”, Strana writes. Earlier, the speaker of the Hungarian parliament, Laszlo Kever, made a similar statement.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó has backed Hungarian parliament speaker Laszlo Kever’s statement that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski has “mental problems”.

“While tens of thousands of people have been working in Hungary in recent months to help Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, Ukrainian politicians are constantly talking about Hungary in an unacceptable tone, provoking us, lying and trying to smear us. They have never once voiced their gratitude out loud. Given all this, Laszlo Kever is absolutely right, even if Ukrainians are outraged,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó wrote on his page in one of the social networks.

As Strana reported, after Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Kever’s statement about Zelenskyy’s “personal mental problems”, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry questioned the Hungarian politician’s adequacy. The Ukrainian agency suggested that he should publish a certificate confirming his mental health.

Verkhovna Rada speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk believes that Hungary is playing along with Russia with such statements.

“The entire democratic world is watching with surprise and incomprehension not President Zelensky’s statements, but the position of Hungary, which persistently continues to smear Ukraine and whitewash Russia,” Stefanchuk wrote.
