About 150 people tried to disrupt the speech of German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock because of her position on Ukraine. This was reported by the Zeit newspaper, citing the police.
According to the law enforcement agencies, during a speech in front of an audience of 1,000 people in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, Berbock supported the supply of heavy weapons to Kiev. Demonstrators opposed to such an approach tried to interrupt her speech by sounding sirens and shouting insults at the head of the agency. Another event with the German minister was canceled for security reasons.
Earlier, the German Foreign Minister said that the supply of weapons to Ukraine did not make the West a party to the conflict. In her opinion, in terms of international law, Germany and other states support Ukraine’s right to self-defense, as enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter.
