People with glasses are less likely to get coronavirus, researchers proved

They figured out why this is happening
Chinese scientists have shown that people with glasses are about five times less likely to become infected with coronavirus infection. It turned out that the glasses prevent COVID-19 infection.

A group of researchers from Nanchang University Second Clinical Hospital conducted a study. They examined 276 patients infected with the coronavirus. It turned out that about 13% of the surveyed wore glasses.

Scientists claim that coronavirus patients who wear glasses for several hours every day are quite rare. This proves that they are less likely to contract COVID-19.

Experts say there are ACE-2 receptors in the eyes, through which the coronavirus enters the body. Scientists believe that glasses prevent people from touching their eyes with their hands, thereby preventing the transmission of the virus from hand to eye. Therefore, bespectacled people are less likely to contract COVID-19.

The results of a study by Chinese scientists indicate that doctors need to protect their eyes and not touch them with their hands.
