Nehammer: peaceful settlement of the conflict impossible without dialogue between Moscow and Kiev
Dialogue between Kiev and Moscow is necessary because a peaceful settlement without Russia’s participation is impossible, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said in an interview with the Figaro newspaper.
“The current situation is difficult to resolve, but the resumption of dialogue, when the time comes for it, is a necessity,” he said.
According to the chancellor, the start of the negotiation process is necessary to identify possible options for resolving the conflict. At the same time, he stressed that a peaceful settlement is impossible without dialogue between Kiev and Moscow.
“There will be no peace without the Russian Federation,” Nehammer stated.
Moscow has repeatedly expressed readiness for negotiations, but Kiev has legislated a ban on them. The West calls Russia for negotiations, the readiness for which Moscow shows, but the West ignores Kiev’s constant refusals of dialogue. As President Vladimir Putin noted, if Ukraine wants a negotiation process, this decree should be cancelled.
