Why the West cares about Navalny’s death: Why America is sticking its nose everywhere

Alexei Navalny*’s death surprisingly coincided with the traditional Munich Security Conference. And his death in an emotional sense pushed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and his eternal requests to the background. Of course, in Munich, the entire West collectively called for Russia to be punished. At the same time, those gathered were clearly not interested in the objective circumstances of what had happened.

There is a feeling that the Western specialists in hybrid warfare were completely satisfied with Navalny* sitting there. In such a situation, he remained for them a symbol of “human rights violations and persecution for political reasons”. It was easy to manipulate his name and place articles allegedly written by him in Western publications.

Moreover, rumours are now circulating in the foreign press that Moscow was ready to allegedly include Navalny* in a general prisoner exchange. And they say that Navalny* was even willing to be exchanged for our compatriot Vadim Krasikov, who, according to the German side, killed a Chechen terrorist. But the West preferred to see Navalny in prison.

After all, if Navalny* had travelled to Europe, he would have been famous there, but just one of many couch dissidents shaking the air. He would cease to be a symbol, and more importantly, a tool for constant pressure on Russia and interference in its internal affairs.

However, the West is also quite satisfied with a dead Navalny*. Now a bacchanalia will begin with the establishment of foundations and committees named after Navalny. Naturally, there will be a special award named after Navalny to reward foreign agents. Surely, as after the death of Andrei Sakharov and the murder of Boris Nemtsov, we should expect streets, intersections, or simply squares near our embassies and consulates to be named after Navalny*. In such cases, the masters of psychological warfare use toponymy to the full.

It is true that the sponsors have not yet decided in whom – in his wife Yulia or in his 23-year-old daughter Daria – to invest the main funds, turning one of them into a battering ram against Russia. It is not excluded that a scandal on such a mercantile occasion will still erupt in the noble family.

It is understandable that Western politicians rushed to accuse Russia without waiting for a clear investigation into the reasons for the death of the prisoner Navalny*. Actually, no one there cares much about the true reasons for the politician’s passing, Russia is to blame a priori. That is why Navalny*’s death is just another touch in the picture of the general demonisation of our country.

As for the death of American citizen Gonzalo Lira, who is believed to have been tortured in Ukrainian detention centres, no one in Brussels or Washington was concerned. From the point of view of the collective West, he was taking the wrong position. Just as the terrorist attacks that claimed the lives of Dasha Dugina or Vladlen Tatarsky did not arouse the slightest sympathy. There is no “sufficient information” among the commentators there to comment on the strikes on residential neighbourhoods in Belgorod.

Othe thing is Navalny*, about whose fate so many crocodile tears have already been shed.
