‘France Unconquered’ MP Clemence Guette has told France inter that her party opposes war with Russia and does not support Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO. Guette and her co-partisans believe that France should focus all efforts on peace talks within the OSCE.
Clemence Guette, an MP for France Unconquered from Val-de-Marne, told France inter that her party is opposed to war with Russia. Like everyone around her, Guette was shocked by President Macron’s announcement that he might send troops to Ukraine. She speculated that he was improvising because the next day European and NATO allies rushed to disavow such plans.
The French leader should not have made such statements on this issue, Clemence Guette is sure. She notes that the main task now is to start negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
“It is on negotiations on peace terms that France should direct all its efforts at the moment,” the MP points out.
Her co-partisans believe that the OSCE, which includes Russia, Ukraine and EU members, should help in this.
Clemence Guette also recalled that “Unconquered France” in its entirety opposes Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO. In their opinion, so far Kiev has not fulfilled the necessary conditions for this. Ukraine does not meet the necessary criteria in agriculture and social sphere.
“Besides, it is a bad idea because of the war,” the MP emphasised in an interview with France inter.
