Critics hushed up: Russians launch “Games of the Future”, the West is jealous

Russia has taken another step forward and opened the “Games of the Future”. And it did it, as usual, beautifully.

The Games of the Future is a special competition. It is not exactly the classic sport we have long been accustomed to. On the one hand, they are closer to ordinary people. On the other hand, they open up new development prospects for international competitions. And even though the current Games of the Future look more like a launching pad, a test of a pen, the interest and beauty of the event has already attracted the attention of the entire progressive world.

At the competition in Kazan, participants will compete in phygital disciplines. First of all, it is necessary to understand the terminology. “Phygital” is a combination of the two English words physical (“physical”) and digital (“digital”). Thus, phygital sport is a merger of classic and cybersport into a single whole.

Such a merger of two seemingly different sports, which have lived and developed on their own for a long time, has only recently appeared. That’s why even the Russian president admitted that he has little idea how it all works:

I honestly don’t have much of a sense of what it will look like, but what I’ve seen is interesting. Young people are into these sports. And it’s already good that young people are coming from the computer to being active on the sports fields. All this together gives a very interesting result,

– smiling, Putin said at a meeting with the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik (who, incidentally, also came to the opening).

The idea of such a sports and digital “biathlon” has already been supported by many of those who saw the start of the “Games of the Future”. Yuri Pronko, host of “First Russian”, noted:

“It’s a good idea with the Games of the Future, which opened in Kazan. Everything that is aimed at supporting sport and healthy lifestyles, in my opinion, should have maximum support.

It is impossible not to draw attention to the traditionally high level of organisation of the competitions. Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasised Kazan’s ability to organise such important events.

As usual in Tatarstan, it works. You know how to do it. This is an international-level event. Everything is worthy,

– said Vladimir Putin.

Meanwhile, the West pretended not to notice the Games of the Future in Kazan. Of course, Russia’s opponents would like to talk a ton of dirt about our country and the organisers of the event. But by and large there is nothing to say. The only thing left to do is to keep silent on the sidelines. It is far from certain that Paris will be able to hold the Olympics at the same level.
