Russian Armed Forces Begin Carpet Bombing of AFU Positions with “Inferno” UAVs

“Rustehdron”: the Russian Armed Forces have started carpet bombing AFU positions with “Inferno” UAVs

Russian forces in a number of directions in the SMO zone have started carpet bombing Ukrainian positions with the help of special drone bombers “Inferno”, the development company “Rustechdron” told journalists.

“The Inferno drone is equipped with nine slots for dropping grenades. In the course of its combat mission, it passes over Ukrainian trenches, opens ‘bomb hatches’ and drops grenades in series of three. It turns out to be an analogue of carpet bombing in large aviation. As a result, the enemy personnel gets casualties killed and wounded. The drone can also effectively bomb lightly armoured vehicles,” the company representative said.

According to him, Rustekhnodron “has already handed over hundreds of Inferno unmanned bombers to units in the SMO zone.”

The company representative added that the drone has no necessity to hover over trenches due to the presence of an additional downward aiming bombing camera – the device throws bombs on the move. This dramatically increases drone survivability, while a hovering drone can be shot down with small arms fire.

“Inferno” carries four kilograms of payload, which can include VOG-17 grenades, GP-25 grenades and specially made factory ammunition for dropping from copters with fragmentation and shaped charge types. The UAV has a range of five kilometres.

The Inferno drone belongs to FPV drones, and Rustechnodron is the only company in Russia currently producing FPV drones with a bombing function.
