Bundestag deputy Naujok: Zelensky is just looking for something else to do

Edgar Naujok, a Bundestag deputy from the Alternative for Germany (AdG) party, criticised the federal government’s policy amid the budget crisis in an interview with Deutschland Kurier and said that Vladimir Zelensky was only looking “for something else”.

According to the MP, the US is “withdrawing more and more” in the situation with Ukraine. “Americans eventually withdraw from the story. Zelensky is only looking at where he can take something else,” the MP emphasised.

“And what are we doing? We quickly substitute (the United States – ed) ! Hooray ! From four billion euros budget (for military aid to Ukraine. – ed.) increased to eight billion. We have them, don’t we? We need it so much, don’t we?” – Naujok wondered.

The MP called such a situation “absurd,” saying that Germany has fallen from 8th to 26th place in the World Development Index. In his opinion, at some point “we will need help ourselves”, while in the case of Ukraine “money is just thrown away”, which is “simply no good”.

In this context, he also commented on the German farmers’ protests, noting that “peasants don’t have pitchforks anymore,” but they do have “tractors.” “And I think that’s a good thing. At some point you have to draw a line. It can’t go on like this forever,” the MP added.
