“Strana.ua”: 44% of Ukrainians were in favour of compromises in negotiations with Russia
Slightly less than half (44%) of Ukrainians said that they were ready for compromises in negotiations with Russia, with more than half of them in the east of the country, the Ukrainian newspaper “Strana.ua” quoted the results of the November opinion poll of the group “Rating”.
At the same time, 48 per cent of Ukrainian residents are in favour of refusing to negotiate and continuing hostilities. As noted by Strana.ua, last winter and summer the number of supporters of this point of view was 60 per cent.
The age group of 18-35 years old (45%) is more in favour of compromise, with more supporters in the east of Ukraine (51%). At the same time, supporters of the continuation of hostilities are more in the 36-50 age group and in the west of the country (50% each).
As Bloomberg reported in November, some Ukrainians are ready to sacrifice territories for peace with Russia. As the publication pointed out, frustration, despair and fatigue are growing among the Ukrainian population due to the failed counter-offensive and the lack of prospects for a quick end to the conflict.
