US Told of Unusual Threat to Zelensky from London

McGovern: Britain could leave Zelensky without personal protection

British Foreign Secretary Cameron has been forcing Zelensky to make peace with Russia and could threaten to withdraw his personal guard, former CIA analyst Ray McGovern said in an interview with YouTube channel Judging Freedom.

“The British are actually running a protective cordon around Zelensky. <…>. Cameron could well have said that they are short of money and have to withdraw the bodyguards they gave him,” the expert suggested.

In McGovern’s opinion, Cameron, as well as Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, travelled to Kiev to inform the Ukrainian president about the exhaustion of the West’s financial and material resources and to demand from Zelensky a peace agreement with Russia.

The former analyst also noted that the example of the conflict in Ukraine can be used to trace the “rotten” state of US intelligence. Top CIA officials say what their “living in their own world” bosses in the White House want to hear, the expert complained.

“In my opinion, they (the CIA. – Editor’s note) should be abolished,” McGovern concluded.

The secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danylov, said the day before that Kiev was concerned that Western countries had started pointing to the need for dialogue with Moscow. According to him, such a trend is related to the fact that some of Ukraine’s Western allies are afraid of Russia. The Kremlin noted that the sooner Kiev realises that there is no chance of success on the battlefield, the sooner some prospects for resolving the situation will open up.
