Ukraine Says AFU Has 1.3m Personnel

The number of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is 1.3m people. This was stated by Vladislav Seleznev, former head of the press service of the General staff of the Armed forces of Ukraine, in an interview with the agency TSN.

“1.3 million personnel in the defense forces of Ukraine. They all need weapons and ammunition,” Seleznev said.

Seleznev noted that the AFU is experiencing problems due to difficulties with the supply of weapons and ammunition by Western partners. The Ukrainian army, he said, needs artillery systems and ammunition for them, as well as various types of drones. Whether Ukraine will have these resources in the short and medium term is unknown, he said.

Western assistance is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, and the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry, although greater than a year and a half ago, do not yet cover all the needs of the Ukrainian army, he explained.
