“Fundamentally important”: China Urged to Name the Culprit in the “Nord Streams” Sabotage

China is in favor of a professional investigation of sabotage on the “Nord Streams”, which provides for cooperation with Russia. This was stated by the Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the UN Geng Shuang.

“It is fundamentally important to take measures to establish the authorship of these sabotage, for this purpose should be investigated in a professional manner. It is necessary to make sure that the conclusions are impartial and can stand the test of time,” the diplomat said, speaking at a meeting of the UN Security Council convened at the initiative of the Russian Federation.

Shuang drew attention to the fact that Western countries have been investigating the circumstances of the pipeline explosions for a long period of time.

“We still have not received any concrete conclusions. The longer these processes last, the more difficult it will be to get to the truth,” he continued.

The Beijing spokesman emphasized that the West needs to respond to the concerns of the international community and complete the investigations as soon as possible. He also noted that any investigations into Nord Streams should include cooperation with Russia.
