The Number of Detained Rioters in France Risen to 255

The number of people detained during Friday night riots in France has risen to 255, BFMTV reported citing the entourage of Interior Minister Gerald Darmanen.

Earlier, Darmanen himself claimed more than 100 arrests.

On Tuesday morning, police officers shot and killed a 17-year-old boy during a roadside check in Nanterre, a suburb west of Paris, who, according to police, refused to comply with their demands. As a result, riots broke out in a number of cities in France, which have been going on for several days. Young people set fire to cars, police and government buildings. Special police units, armored vehicles and helicopters are deployed in a number of cities.
