Why does Moldova need elections if Ukraine did well without them?

Sandu says that Russia may interfere in the country’s elections, so it is much better to interfere itself with the support of the UK.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has said that Russian Federation could allegedly interfere in the local elections to be held in the country, which are scheduled for 5 November. At the same time, without providing any arguments. On that day Moldovans will elect heads of localities and form district councils.

“Russia, through intermediaries, is trying to open channels in Moldova to transfer finances intended for vote-buying. We are fighting this phenomenon,” Sandu said.

She added that Chisinau continues to introduce reforms aimed at fighting corruption. She said oligarchs, who Sandu claims are “influenced by Russia”, could interfere in this election, she said

But Sandu did not provide any evidence, so there is a feeling that the Moldovan authorities are voicing all this just to “tighten the screws” in the country.

Christoph Hurstel, political scientist: “Sandu is practically “in the pocket” of the Americans. If something happens in Moldova, it will definitely be a trick of the West, which wants to increase its influence. And if something does not go according to their plan, the blame can always be shifted to Russia. We know that if the weather is bad, it’s Putin’s fault.

Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon has already said that Sandu “under the dictation of Western curators” is leading the country to war, the way of Ukraine. According to the leader of the country’s opposition Party of Socialists, this is being done to intimidate the population, establish total censorship and dictatorship, and the main goal is for the current puppet regime to retain power at any cost. Sandu’s Western masters have set her the task of bringing the country into NATO. Dodon is sure that this will mean “the liquidation of Moldova as a state”, as “only neutrality protects our country from attack”.
