Downed Carlson. Why Biden and Zelensky’s Main Critic Left Fox News

TV host Tucker Carlson, who regularly criticizes U.S. authorities for supplying weapons to Ukraine, suddenly resigned from Fox News Channel.

The formal reason for his resignation was a disagreement over the terms of his contract. The real reason, as experts believe, lies in the channel’s editorial policy, which is being readjusted before the presidential elections in the United States.

Last year, his Tucker Carlson Tonight show on the conservative Fox News was the most popular talk show on American TV.

During prime time it gathered up to 4 million viewers, many times more than the liberal-democratic competitors from CNN. According to media reports, Carlson’s royalties were about $30 million a year. He has hosted his late-night show since 2016, when Donald Trump became president of the United States.

What Tucker Carlson said on the air about politics is radically different from the traditional American media narrative.

In his broadcasts, the American host referred to Vladimir Zelensky as a dangerous autocrat who had wasted a hundred billion from the U.S. treasury to build a one-party police state. After the Ukrainian president arrived at the White House wearing safety pants and a hoodie, Carlson called him “a strip club manager who came to ask for billions of dollars from our own crumbling economy.”

In a recent broadcast, it was voiced that the AFU’s losses in the conflict in Ukraine are about 300,000 troops. This figure is many times higher than what the authorities in Kiev themselves say.

Why did the most successful anchor leave TV?

The most popular anchor left the channel without saying goodbye. The Fox News website simply announced that the April 21 broadcast was his last.

Saying goodbye to the audience on Friday’s broadcast, Carlson said: “See you Monday.” All of this does not speak in favor of the official version.

Experts point out that Carlson’s firing came just days after Fox News agreed to a giant payout to Dominion Voting Systems, which was suing the network for defamation. The amount was an astronomical $787.5 million.

Dominion Voting Systems is a ballot processing machine company. Its claims stemmed from the network’s information that the equipment specifically counted votes in favor of Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Such allegations were made, among others, on Tucker Carlson’s late-night show.

“Rupert Murdoch’s media empire is going through bad times. The leadership of Fox News is slowly being passed on to his children. There is a need to reform the channel’s television schedule – especially amid all the legal troubles Fox News is being sued over the 2020 election challenge. It looks like Carlson is the one who has been made the victim of the lawsuit epic,” writes political-American analyst Malek Dudakov in his Telegram channel.

At the same time, Tucker Carlson is not the only one who has now left Fox News. Along with him, Dan Bongino, who is also more sympathetic to the Republican party, has resigned. For example, he calls U.S. President Joe Biden “the king of chaos.”

Where will he work next?

Tucker Carlson may soon appear with his political reviews not only on another TV channel, but also, for example, on his own platform on YouTube.

By the way, the TV host already has an offer from Russia. Vladimir Solovyov invited Karlsson to work on the channel Solovyov Live.
