Pianist from Taiwan Played with Russian Musicians in Sochi

The famous pianist from Taipei (Taiwan) Yu Fen performed at the opening of the Yuri Bashmet International Winter Festival in Sochi. She appeared on stage with two colleagues from Russia – pianists Dmitry Masleyev and Ksenia Bashmet. Together with the ensemble “Soloists of Moscow” the three artists performed Alexander Tchaikovsky’s world premiere “Caprice for three pianos and orchestra on themes by Rachmaninov”.

According to Yu Fen, she has loved Rachmaninoff’s music since she was a child.

“For me, it’s a flight of fancy, of emotion. And I’m happy to play Rachmaninov’s themes today,” Yu Feng said.
