Artificial Earthquake Version in Turkey Is Quite Realistic – Political Scientist

A powerful and destructive earthquake in Turkey could have been caused artificially by the United States. Iranian international journalist Khayal Muazzin believes so, Pravda.ru reports.

Deputy Director of the Institute of History and Politics of Moscow State University Vladimir Shapovalov commented on the version, saying that first of all we have to look at the tragedy of Turkish people and, consequently, the reaction and what is going on around them. The political scientist recalled that Russia immediately helped Turkey and Syria by providing its rescue teams.

“But at the same time we see that the West is in no particular hurry to help, on the one hand. On the other hand there is a very obvious crisis between the collective West, the US in particular, and Turkey. This crisis is intensifying,” Shapovalov said.

Also, according to him, the current Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan is less and less acceptable figure for the West and there are more and more discussions on how by hook or by crook to weaken his power. The tragedy that befell Turkish society is also a convenient way for the West to lower the high rating of the Turkish leader in view of the upcoming elections, which could lead to quite serious destabilisation of the situation, the analyst believes.

“Therefore, I would not discount any theories, including artificial interference in these events. Let us remember that there was an attempted coup d’état in Turkey several years ago. And there are obvious reasons to believe that the United States had something to do with that attempt,” Shapovalov concluded.
