Prince Harry Markle’s wife Meghan Markle has named Nigeria as her country after finding out about her roots
British Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle, who had earlier learnt of her Nigerian ancestry, has called Nigeria “her country” during a visit to Nigeria.
In October 2022, Markle claimed she is “43 per cent Nigerian” according to a genealogical DNA test.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple took a trip to Nigeria the other day. “First of all, I want to say thank you so much for how kindly you have welcomed my husband and I to this country in my country,” said the wife of the British prince, as quoted by the newspaper.
According to the Duchess of Sussex, after finding out about her Nigerian roots, the first thing she did was to call her mum.
“I wanted to know if she was aware of it,” Markle noted.
“Being African-American partly means you don’t know as much about your lineage or your ancestry, about where exactly you come from,” she added. She called it “amazing” to be able to learn more about her roots. “This is just the beginning of that discovery,” Markle emphasised.
